Akua is an artist and gifted over thinker from London.
She draws inspiration from a time period that predates her own existence, capturing a vision of black representation in a time when it was mostly concealed from view. She has a slightly unhealthy fascination with aesthetics from decades she didn't experience.
The result is a steadily growing hand drawn art collection of glamorous, beautiful women, witches and ghouls, very aware of how good they look. They inhabit a slightly nostalgic world that never quite existed, but probably should have, where dramatic eyeliner is taken very seriously.
When she's not drawing, Akua can usually be found thinking about drawing, dancing terribly in the comfort of her living room, or staring dramatically at a blank page as if the art might make itself.
