Back in 1992 in London, a powerful celestial force emerged. That force's name is Akua. The universe itself conspired to bring her into existence with the purpose of sending out a revolutionary message through her art. Akua is not just an artist, she's an artivist and digital art is her weapon of choice.
Akua draws inspiration from a time period that predates her own existence, capturing a vision of black representation in a time when it was concealed from view.
Her artivism is an F YOU to the establishment, to the system, to capitalism, to a racist system that lacks representation. How exactly does she do this, you might wonder? With artwork of elegant, feminine black women, retro style, one drawing at a time!
As well as using art to send a message, Akua also wanted to put her celestial abilities to good use and help others.
Akua now offers free psychotic (though, donations are welcome) readings to broken souls. Although completely unqualified to do so, she has been told by her cult members — sorry, friends — that she gives fantastic advice and insights. She has been in a position to say 'I told you so' more times than she can count and has heard 'you were right' even more.
